Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria is a religious and spiritual society that has brought spiritual revival to most of those who embraced it within the Church. Through her Prayer Groups (PG) and Charismatic Communities, CCRN has provided a supportive environment where biblical awareness, expectancy and experience are fostered. Apart from experiencing a rapid growth, her journey over the years has been dynamic.

Across the country and in various provinces in Nigeria, the Renewal has become a significant movement in every parish and her spirituality help in formation of devoted and active Catholics.

Aims and Objectives

To uphold the directives of the Catholic bishops of Nigeria on the Renewal;
To deepen the spiritual life of the individual through personal conversion, commitment to Jesus Christ, di prayer and reading of the scriptures, and participating deeply in the sacraments and liturgical life of the Church.
To lead believers, through instruction and prayers in the life in the spirit seminars, to the joyous and divine experience of the Holy Trinity as a living
To earnestly desire and exercise these gifts freely in the service of others and of the church under the guidance of the bishops.
To foster a deeper sense of oneness and love among Christians through the idea of Christian communities or prayer groups
To regain for the Catholic Church those who had fallen away in faith or grown lukewarm.
To develop in Christ’s faithful the qualities of a responsible Christian and Church leadership for the purpose of building up a dynamic and stable Church on earth under one shepherd, not through religious indifferentism but through greater mutual understanding, love and cooperation.
To dissociate ourselves from any individual or group of persons or bodies we identify to be against the teachings of the Catholic Church;
To ensure that CCR prayer groups and institutions operate under the chaplains and relevant service team in their respective locations;
To ensure that the approved CCR ministries operates within the approved guidelines;
To promote evangelization with the aim of winning new converts for God and the Church,
To deepen our Catholic faith, and live in union with the church, the same goals for which the Popes and the council.

Membership

Membership of Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria is open to all Catholics who embraces spirituality.
